PARTY SPECIALISTS, INC.
WEDDING PLANNER
To get the planning started we have included a condensed version of what goes on at a wedding. We are by no mean limited to this format. Please let us know if you have your own ideas on what you like done at your wedding.
Pre-ceremonial Music
Creating the right ambience during the arrival and seating of the guests is pertinent to a successful wedding ceremony. Music should commence upon the arrival of the first guests with a variety of selections from classical, jazz and love ballads to new age and sentimental favorites. Processional
The processional begins with a pre-selected song for the bridal party’s walk down the aisle; once there, the music will gradually fade. A new selection signifies the beginning of the bridal march, for the bride and her escort; as before, the music will fade. Ceremony
Music is always an option during the ceremony and occasionally the bride and groom will request a sentimental favorite. Recessional
At ceremony close, the officiant will present the newlyweds to their guests and after a few spoken words will signal for the recessional to begin. The bride and groom will exit followed by the bridal party, to a pre-designated location for photos. Cocktail Music
While the guests arrive, we are playing light, popular jazz, R&B, or a light, rock-soul and oldies mix. Because your guests are spending this time conversing with friends and relatives that they may have not seen in a while, we try to keep the music low-key and our volumes unobtrusive.
Bride and Groom Arrive
Usually the photographer will take the bridal party for pictures after the ceremony. After the photographer has completed his photo session with the bride and groom at the reception hall, DJ/MC will announce the arrival of the bridal party with the Bride and Groom.
First Dance
The bride and groom select this song prior to their wedding date. This song should be well thought out, and define something special about the two of you
Toast
This is usually done by the best man, we will announce the toast several minutes before it happens to insure that all of the guests have a full glass.
Blessing
Once your bridal party attendants are at the head table, your entertainer will ask a guest someone selected prior to reception parent, friend, grandparent, uncle, priest, rabbi, etc. by name to say the blessing.
Parents Dances
The bride will first dance with her father, and then the groom will follow by escorting his mother to the dance floor for their special dance together. At times there have been instances where someone else has danced in the place of either parent.
Let's Party
We will invite everyone to join in on the dance floor. In the beginning of the reception, we usually play a lot of popular music to get everyone involved in dancing, a mix of dance music works best, as we are not only interested in what you would like to have played, we are also interested in the songs that you do not want to hear, but please take into consideration the music preferences of your guests when eliminating song titles.
Garter
DJ/MC will ask the bride and groom to make their way to the dance floor, the bride will sit in a chair for the garter removal.
Garter Toss
It’s time for the groom to toss the garter, DJ/MC will ask for all single men to make their way to the dance floor so the groom can toss the garter.
Bouquet Toss
It’s then time for the bride to toss her bouquet DJ/MC will ask for all single ladies to please make their way to the dance floor so the bride can toss her bouquet.
Garter Placement
Once we have the recipient’s of the garter & bouquet, it is time for us to have a little fun!
Cake Cutting
This takes place after dinner, your music selection for cake cutting can be a song selected by the bride and groom. We will coordinate with your photographer to when is proper time to begin the music for this traditional moment.
Dollar Dance
The concept of Dollar Dance" is that the male guests pay for the privilege of dancing with the bride, and by extension, female guests pay for the privilege of dancing with the groom. The money is to be used for the bride and groom's honeymoon or to give them a little extra cash with which to set up housekeeping.
Last Dance
DJ/MC asks the bride and groom and all guests to join in for the last dance to bring your wedding reception to a close.
After the Wedding is Over
72% of all brides say they would have spent more time choosing their reception entertainment.
Almost 100% say they would have spent more of their budget on the entertainment.
During wedding planning, Brides say their highest priority is their attire, followed by the reception site and caterer - reception entertainment is among the least of their priorities. Within one week after their reception, 78% of Brides say they would have made the entertainment their highest priority!
