DISC JOCKEY PARTY MUSIC

Warning! this can happen to you if you don't find the right DJ for your event It's really very sad remember, these are all true stories!

Lisa and Marc newlyweds from Delray Beach tells their story. The first thing my DJ said to me when I walked into Boca Country Club was Congratulations Hot Stuff? Lisa!. That was just the beginning. He referred to me as Hot Stuff Lisa twice more, including in our introductions! I was so embarrassed, and so were my guests.

Carol and Gary had their wedding reception at Signatrue Grand in Davie. They thought they hired a DJ that would follow their directions. What they got was disappointment. We specifically told our DJ not to play the Hokey Pokey, YMCA and the Chicken Dance. Fifteen minutes after dancing began he played them, back to back!

Susan recall a bad experience for her husband Anthony's 40th birthday party at Sheridan Yankee Clipper Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale "We gave our DJ a list of our favorite songs that we wanted played during our party and he didn't play one. We asked him repeatedly to play them and he refused until I was practically in tears.

Jose and Joan weren't so lucky during their daughter Maria's Quinceanera at Wyndham Resort Hotel in Miami, We were dancing like maniacs, when all of sudden, silence. Our DJ's equipment blew up and he had no backup, our party was pretty much over. It ruined our entire night.

We gave our DJ a $850.00 deposit over a year before our son's Jason's Bar Mitzvah, says Allison at the Crystal Lakes Country Club. "About a month before the Bar Mitzvah we called the number on the contract and it was disconnected! It was so stressful trying to find a DJ a month before the bar mitzvah. We still don't know what happened to him, or our deposit.

Stephanie and John had a DJ that showed up to their company new years eve party at Rock Hard Casino Hotel Hollywood, in jeans! I couldn't believe this guy thought that black jeans and tie were appropriate," exclaimed Stephanie's mother. We paid him almost a thousand dollars and he shows up like that? Unbelievable!

Brian and Eleanor's DJ was dressed appropriately for their reception at the Carolina Club in Margate, However, they had a different problem. Brian tells it best, Our DJ was late. He was carrying his speakers and lights and stuff right past our receiving line! He looked completely disorganized and flustered. We didn't even have any music until just before dinner.

Kathy and Jorge also had a disorganized DJ at their reception at Pete's in Boca Raton Our DJ was a nice guy, but I don't think he had any idea what he was doing," explains Kathy. He didn't introduce our bridal party correctly, he forgot to announce the cake being cut, and it took us forever to start dancing after dinner. When we finally did our bridal dance, the DJ did it so abruptly that our photographer was still in the lobby taking pictures of our parents. Not only did the photographer miss the dance, so did our parents! It was a total disaster.

Maureen and Andrew tried to save money by hiring a less-expensive DJ. They got what they paid for during their reception at Hiton Hotel in Palm Beach Gardens.. Maureen remembers, "Our DJ didn't even come prepared with any of the songs we discussed, not even the song Andrew and I were going to have for our first dance! We ended up dancing to some song we never even heard of.

Recently, at a reception at the Deerfield Creek Country Club, a similar thing happened during Juan and Rita's 25th wedding.anniversay "Our DJ played rap all night, which we can't stand. I looked through his CDs to try to find something else and all he had was rap. Most of my guests left before 10pm. I think our DJ started to drink during dinner, By the time he was supposed to introduce our special dance he was slurring his words. Around 10:30pm he began to get belligerent with some of the guests. Then, near the end of the night, he passed out in the bathroom after peeing in his pants! It was a total nightmare.

DJ RIPOFFS and DJ SCAMS

The DJ company will have you sign a contract for $200.00 for 3 hours.

You think everything is fine. You think you saved money and found the one incredible "too good to be true" deal.

One week prior to the wedding they inform you that ...

There is $100.00 equipment set-up and break-down fee

You must pay $50.00 for gas to fill up their van.

You have to give us full dinner and desert with all drinks and whoever they bring along.

You must tip the DJ 20% that is the rule even if they are bad.

If you want a wireless microphone it is $75 extra. They also knew you would need this from the beginning.

Your DJ that they showed you is not available -- (He broke his arm, He left the country, he is in Jail or whatever reason they can make up). The DJ was actually never available. They knew that from the beginning too. They send a completely untrained DJ, you got ripped off.

They shut down for business... good luck ever finding them or your money. Their phone number is disconnected.

Your DJ shows up and his equipment breaks. This is the most common one that we hear from every hall. DJ's don't understand electronics, ohms, resistance, impedance, or know how to match equipment. They have mismatched gear and it BLOWS UP, quite literally at your wedding.

Your DJ shows up and makes an idiot out of himself. He thinks he is a "STAR" and everyone is at the wedding to see him.

Car Salesman -- Many DJ companies are nothing more than a great salesman. The DJ talent they have is horrible, but the salesman sells you so smoothly.... OUCH!
