BAR MITZVAH PARTY DJ

The Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah ceremony in the Jewish faith, is a celebration of a thirteen-year-old boy or girl becoming a man or woman. Bar mitzvah is the Hebrew phrase meaning "son of the commandment" and bat mitzvah means "daughter of the commandment." Becoming a bar or bat mitzvah means that a boy or girl has become an adult, and is fully responsible for his, or her morals and religious duties. It also means that he, or she has become a full-fledged member of the Jewish community, and must follow the rules of Jewish life -- the commandments. This is one of the most memorable events in the life of a special young person and their family. Because of the significance of this type of event, you do not want to place your faith in just any disc jockey entertainer.

Party Specialists takes a lot of considerations in conducting a celebration as important as a bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah. We know that such an event requires hours of planning and preparation for each hour of performance time. Party Specialists will be only too happy to work with you to help achieve the ultimate experience for that special young person in your life.

Our Bat/Bar Mitzvahs are customized to suit every client.

Format can vary from each Mitzvah but usually include

  • Cocktail Hour

Homotzi

Bread, has a unique Berachah, shared with no other food. The Berachah for bread is “Baruch Atah Hashem…Homotzi Lechem Min Ha’aretz, “Blessed are You Hashem, who brings forth bread from the earth.” For this purpose, bread is defined as food which is derived from one of the five species of grain (wheat, barley, spelt, oats and rye), which is then milled into flour, mixed with water, kneaded into dough and baked in an oven. The uniqueness of bread is not merely that it is a universally accepted staple food, but that it held a special place in the Temple sacrifices.

Candle lighting blessing and ceremony

One candle is added to the menorah for each person. Candles should be added from right to left. During a Bar and Bat Mitzvah a candle lighting ceremony takes place where 13 candles are lit on the dancefloor or by the stage to act as the blessing and in honor of chosen significant guests and family members. You will be able to dedicate a small snippet of a song or theme for the invited friend or relative when they join you at the candle lighting.

About Music For Your BAR/BAT MITZVAH

Why should I use an entertainment company?

We will help you find the right entertainment, check availability, and secure the contract. The Disc Jockey you choose for your event will be reliable, professional, will set up on time and will perform the music you expect to hear.

Why is entertainment important at a Bar/Bat Mitzvah function?

Disc Jockey takes care of Master of Ceremony duties and coordinates the large selection of games or themes that you may decide to use. Also, most people remember live entertainment and dancing to a wide selection of songs as a highlight to the event.

Why is a Disc Jockey better than live band for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah?

A Disc Jockey will play the original recordings that you are most familiar with. A Disc Jockey will require a lot less space, if that is an issue. A disc jockey is less expensive than a live band. Some Disc Jockeys are very good at leading dances, adding humor, and encouraging audience participation.

What should I expect if I hire a Disc Jockey?

Again, there are several considerations in hiring a Disc Jockey:

  • He/she should be able to act as Master of Ceremonies, making announcements and introductions.
  • The Disc Jockey should know how to get the party started and how to read a crowd.
  • He/she should use up-to-date digital equipment & laptop computer and should bring backup equipment as well.
  • A Disc Jockey should bring a large collection of music, including selections from the 1940's to the present.
  • He/she should be happy to play the songs that you want to hear and should gladly play requests.

With the right music, games, entertainment, contests and prizes, the celebration will be fun for everyone!

What types of activities do you offer?

We feel that the interaction with your guests is as important as the music itself. We have a number of ideas to make the event an enjoyable time for all. We can start with a high energy announcement of the guest of honor, often times with all the guests standing on both sides of the entrance forming an arch allowing the guest of honor to shake hands as he/she walks through. Games such as Simon Says, and Karaoke work well. There can be trivia involving the guest of honor. Some questions could include his/her favorite food, teacher, past time, etc. We suggest having prizes for the winners. Another idea that you might consider is to have a theme party. Use your imagination; the ideas are endless.

How can I arrange a candle lighting ceremony of my Bar/Bat Mitzvah?

Shortly before the scheduled date you will receive a special Bar/Bar Mitzvah Planner from us that allows you to convey how you want to format all ceremonies, introductions, Candle Lighting Songs, etc.
